Description – Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine in the family Piperaceae, cultivated for peppercorn (fruit). It is usually dried and used as a spice and seasoning. When it are fully mature, the fruit is about 5 mm (0.20 in) in diameter, dark red, and contains a single seed, like all drupes.
Application – In foods, black pepper and black pepper oil are used as a spice that add flavour, color and pungency. This extract is widely used in medicinal applications due to the numerous health-promoting properties.
