Description – Natural Phytosterol Esters are obtained from the esterification process of free plant sterols with fatty acids of vegetable oils. Natural Phytosterol Ester is an esterified & concentrated form of free sterols which shows improved stability & solubility in oils & fats. As such it is highly suitable to be used in various different product formulations.
Application – In Food Industry it is primarily used for food fortification purpose like fortified cereals, biscuits, beverages and various other food products. The enrichment of foods such as margarines with phytosterol esters has been an important development in functional foods to enhance the cholesterol lowering ability of traditional food products.
